Waiting Out The Night
Beck, and another hiker, Yasuko Namba, were in bad shape. Beck had lost his outer glove and his right hand had already frozen solid in the cold. The group stopped to huddle together and wait out the night until someone could look for help the next day. That night, Beck would wander off, only to be found the next day, hypothermic and dying.
