Stayner’s Life

At 20 years old, Stayner got married and had kids of his own. His wife was there for him even when he was still struggling and having nightmares. By 24 years old, he was starting to heal. They even featured his story and made it into a movie, “ I Know My First Name is Steven.” And then again, fate had other plans. Just when he was getting his life together and picking up the pieces, his motorcycle collided with a car and he died from the crash in 1989.

Closure

In January 2003, Parnell was arrested once again. His caregiver, Diane Stevens, said that he was trying to coerce her into buying him a 4-year old boy. He kept saying that he wanted a family, but the person in charge of his health in the home couldn’t find it in her to do what he asked. He was finally tried for child molestation.
