The Day It Happened
A Buick driven by Parnell quickly pulled up beside them and Stayner jumped into the vehicle. But instead of going home, they quickly drove to a cabin that Parnell owned. Little did the boy’s family realize that this new home was just a few hundred feet from his grandfather’s house. Despite the close proximity, the boy was held captive for the next seven years.
The Very First Incident
The very first night at the cabin was scary for Stayner, but instead of giving him time to adjust to his new surroundings, Parnell just went ahead and molested him. He was broken and he needed his family, but after begging his abductor to let him go home, Parnell just said that he now gained legal custody because the family could no longer afford to support him. For him, this meant that this would be his life from now on.
