Finally, on February 9, 2004, Parnell was convicted on the charges of attempting to purchase a child and attempted child molestation. Along with Stevens’ testimony and the child pornography materials found in his belongings, he was sentenced to 25 years to life. He remained incarcerated until he died in 2008. He passed away from natural causes and had been in the hospice for quite some time when this happened.

He had also forgiven Poorman for being an accomplice to his harrowing experience and said that while the past did haunt him, he had a good life now and a wife who loved him unconditionally.
