Number 10: Irene Gut

Catholic born Irene Gut was from a Polish family whom went on to take up nursing when Hitler took over in 1939. At the time, she was only around 20 years old but she would go on to see an incredible number of abominations, 1 of which was a Nazi soldier who killed an innocent infant right before her eyes.

Becoming His Mistress

Not too long after, she began working for a very prestigious and wealthy Nazi named Major Rügemer in his hotel. She used this position to help smuggle out Jews working in the hotel, as well as hide others in the cellar below. Rügemer soon found out about what she was doing and rather than kill the Jews, requested Irene to become his mistress in order to save their lives, to which she reluctantly agreed.
