Number 2: Hortense Daman

14-year of Hortense Daman happened to be from Belgium when Nazi Germany came to her country to take it over. Daman’s brother happened to be a part of the Belgium Army, and her entire family would end up becoming a part of the resistance against the rise of Adolf Hitler.

Her brother also happened to be working with an underground newspaper group known as ‘Le Libre Belgique,’ translated as The Free Belgium. She would become a carrier of secret messages, and even weapons and explosives, all under the pretense of delivering groceries for her mom. It was even said that her demeanor was one of major calm under pressure, making her the perfect messenger.
