Ellen DeGeneres
Just like Ellen herself, when she first came out it was a huge hullaballoo too. It was on the cover of world-renowned Time Magazine on April 14, 1997 with her posing on the cover with the words, “Yep, I’m Gay” written all over it. In the end, when asked why she decided to break free, she explained, “I decided this was not going to be something that I was going to live the rest of my life being ashamed of.” And thank goodness for that!
