Perez’s Lawyer Blames Lopez
According to Perez’s lawyer, he only dropped Brittany off at Maraglino’s house and left. Expecting to find Brittany alone when he returned later that night, he was surprised when he found Lopez in the house with Brittany’s lifeless and mutilated body. The lawyer said Lopez had many psychological disorders, particularly bipolar disorder, mood instability, and multiple personalities, and she killed Brittany because she saw the 22-year-old as a threat to the arrangement she had with Perez and Maraglino. Perez admitted that he helped dump Brittany’s body in Riverside County, and he also discarded her phone in Downtown San Diego in an attempt to cover all his bases. Just like Maraglino, Perez’s lawyer maintained that his client’s only crime was covering up the murder.
