Brittany’s Phone And Odd Text Messages
The friend Brittany contacted texted her back to ask if she was okay. She replied, “Yes I love this party.” That immediately set alarm bells ringing because Brittany always used the word “Yeah” and never “Yes.” In O’Fallon, Brittany’s family was eagerly waiting for her return, communicating with her regularly. When Michelle hadn’t heard from her since the previous night, she sent messages and started calling her phone, but Brittany never replied to her text messages or answered her calls. Michelle was relieved when her phone rang. However, when she picked up, she heard a man’s voice instead of Brittany’s. Feeling dread crawl up her spine, she asked who the man was and why he had her daughter’s phone. The man said the phone was discovered by a homeless person just outside the Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego, and he handed the phone over to authorities.
