Mexican Barbie

Considering that Mattel’s Barbie franchise earns money in the billions, there’s no way that they won’t try to capitalize on her in any way they can. They even created an entire “Dolls of the World” collection, including Mexico Barbie, which they were hoping would cater to their friends down south. The only problem was that they dressed her in the frilliest pink fiesta dress, armed with a pink passport, and had her hold a tiny Chihuahua, whose origins began in Mexico. After all the outrage at what many called a racist interpretation, they ended up changing her into a Mariachi outfit instead, yet we still don’t know how that made it any better.

Lion King’s Simba And Rafiki

Who can forget that awe-inspiring scene of Rafiki holding up baby Simba in the beloved Disney classic ‘The Lion King,’ presenting him to the rest of the jungle population? While toy companies jumped on the bandwagon after the movie’s release, creating tiny Simbas, Rafikis and the like, what one unknown toy company did was attempt to recreate that cherished scene, but sadly ended up making it look like Rafiki was horrendously molesting the little cub instead. This is one perfect example of jungle fever going a wee bit too far.
