Salaries (and Taxes)
Until 2015, the NFL was tax exempted for 73 years! Thanks to political lobbying. Eventually, the league was forced to drop its 501-C status but only if they were allowed to not disclose salaries of their members. Ironically, the NFL has some of the highest paid athletes on the planet not to mention the managers, coaches and other members that make up the league. It was reported that the commissioner alone received over US$ 44 million in compensation.
