Many League Players Go Broke
Athletes when drafted to play for the big leagues are fortunate enough to make millions of dollars over the course of their playing careers. However, it is more likely that they end up broke because of their lavish lifestyle. Most of their money is spent on excessive parties, palatial houses, very expensive cars and luxury items leaving them with little to fall back on when the time (or age) calls for them to quit. Reports show that roughly 80% of NFL players go broke or bankrupt within five years of retirement.
