Bribery Scandal
It was reported that, the DeBartolo Family, the “firm” that owns the San Francisco 49er’s was involved in a gambling scandal in the 1990’s. Eddie DeBartolo Jr., allegedly bribed a Louisiana Governor with US$ 400,000 to get a riverboat gambling license. The later was eventually jailed but DeBartolo was only fined and removed from operating the team for just a year. Oh, the powers of the league!
