The National Football League (NFL) and the gambling industry (both legal and illegal) have been cozily cohabitating for more than 90 years but the public is negated of this reality. Conversely, the NFL’s feigned indignation about gambling is a total joke. A conservative estimate is that US$ 80 billion to US$ 100 billion is wagered to the NFL games each year and only a fraction by legal means. People place their bets through bookies, office pools, fantasy football, and the like. This gambling boosts attendance and TV revenue, the milking cow of sports. When they have money in the game, your interest is intensified.
