Although people believe that Myrtle Beach is just a place to lounge on the sand, enjoy the water and soak up the sun, it has its fair share of crime, enough to be on the watch list for the National Council for Home Safety and Security. Probably because of the number tourists that are more relaxed than looking out for danger, there are a number of cases of ‘non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault.’
