22. Darby, Pennsylvania
Located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania southwest of Philadelphia, Darby derived its name from the English city of Derby, which was where many of the city’s settlers originated from. Although it may look like a quiet suburban town compared to other cities, Darby’s high incidence of crime suggests that it is far from being so.
Statistics from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting System showed that in 2017, Darby had 1,615 incidents of violent crime per 100,000 residents, with assaults and robberies topping the list.
