Anniston, Alabama is a city located in Calhoun County, Alabama and was once named “The Model City” by 19th century Atlanta journalist, Henry W. Grady, thanks to the careful planning that went into the its construction. Sadly, it is far from being “model,” as crime seems to have taken over its streets.

Anniston’s total crime rate of 9,592 per 100,000 residents is a sickening 249% higher than the US average, with statistics suggesting a 1 in 11 chance for residents to fall prey to criminals in the city.
