Leaving Everything Behind

Evacuees thought that they will only be gone for a few days prompting them to leave everything behind with the hope of coming back again. Remnants of their everyday life abound – records, dolls, newspapers (some of which are highly radioactive) lie dispersed around the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
