The “Elephants Foot” of Chernobyl
The model Soviet City of Pripyat was home to 50,000 people and serviced the adjacent power plant. Everything inside the city and surrounding area is contaminated. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, a few minutes near this spot would have killed a person. Today, radiation has decayed, although still very radioactive and dangerous.
