The Initial Destruction
By the time morning came, the destruction was evident in the first photos taken by Igor Kostin, a Kiev-based photographer who eventually became known for his photos of the Chernobyl disaster. It was even said that this particular photo was quite ‘noisy’ as they put it, because the radiation was already taking effect.
