Machines Couldn’t Do It

The Germans, Japanese and Americans even offered to send specialized equipment to help, but the USSR turned them down thinking they could handle it on their own. They used their own specialized machinery, but even their custom made trucks and other vehicles couldn’t do the work. The trucks would get stuck themselves so they had no choice but to send in people.
