A Failed Attempt
This picture shows just how much of the sand mixture the helicopters dropped on top of the reactor, although much of it completely missed the mark. Then to make matters worse, one of the helicopters crashed during the mission. Then there was yet another mission to get an underground refrigeration device beneath the building to help cool the core, but the job took over a month and after all the effort, they never even got to use it. Sadly, all the people working on it would die later on from radiation exposure.
