Since the explosion at Reactor 4 had caused a number of fires all over the nuclear power plant, the plant’s own firemen were the first to respond. They were worried that Reactor 3 would also be affected and they couldn’t allow that to happen. These men bravely attempted to put out the fires while the radiation slowly affected them, forcing them to die horrible deaths later on.
