Finally Closed Off
Finally, Pripyat was closed off to the public, and all the residents of the area. Only those that were dealing and helping with the cleanup attempts at Chernobyl were allowed inside the premises. Their main concern was portions of the reactor that hand landed on the roof after the explosion and they needed to remove it with machinery since it was too dangerous for men to do it with all the radiation exposure.
