Like Nothing Happened

Meanwhile in Pripyat, most of the people there had no idea how bad the explosion was and how it was going to completely affect their lives. Apparently, the leaders were doing what they could to alleviate panic, but they even put up barricades so that no one could leave or come in without the proper authority. Soon enough though, residents would find out that the radiation levels had reached horrific heights when they would finally be asked to evacuate their homes, 34 hours after the reactor had exploded.
