22. Dizziness and Vertigo
Multiple Sclerosis may also cause dizziness and vertigo in people whose brain stem or cerebellum have been damaged by their body’s own inflammatory system. When the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for balance, becomes affected by MS, patients may begin to feel lightheaded, as if their surroundings are spinning around them. This makes it difficult for people to walk and stand up, preventing them from doing things that require them to be on their feet.
