3. Double Vision
When the immune system abnormally attacks the myelin sheath or the covering of the nerves found in the brain and spinal cord, many problems begin to arise, including those that affect the nerves controlling the muscles of the eyes. Lesions in the brainstem due to MS result in decreased muscle tone in one or more muscles of the eye, preventing it to focus and move properly, causing double vision.
