13. African wild dogs show true nature.

Parents who plan on bringing along their kids to the zoo should be very careful not let go of them at all costs. In one incident, a helpless toddler fell into the enclosure of African wild dogs. African wild dogs are about the size of domestic dogs and are pack hunters in the wild. They are known for viciously tearing apart their prey. That’s reason enough to leave them out in the wild. In a horrific incident involving these savage animals, two-year-old Maddock Derkosh was placed by his mom on the railing just outside of the African wild dogs’ enclosure.

The 2-year-old boy fell into the safety nets and bounced into the inner pen. He was immediately attacked by three dogs, biting him in the head and torso. It was later determined that the cause of the boy’s death was not the fall, but the injuries he sustained from the dogs’ attack.
