35. A surprise visit that went awry with a Tiger attack
Wild animals, even those in captivity, still possess wild animal instincts, no matter how well-trained they are. Trever James Wearmouth and Thomas Anthony Bryce-Hart were planning on paying a surprise visit to their friend working at the Calgary zoo one night. Both climbed the 8-foot barbed wire fence of the zoo, but then decided they should spend a few moments petting the tigers. One of them climbed another barrier and extended his arm to pet Vitali, a Siberian tiger.
Naturally, the huge beast was having none of it. Their “friendly” gesture was met with animalistic aggression by the vicious cat, and the tiger mauled the poor man and dragged him around the enclosure by the arm before rescue could arrive. They both survived but was penalized for trespassing.
