Budd Dwyer, the Treasurer of Pennsylvania during that time, called a news conference on January 22, 1987. Everyone was shocked when Dwyer pulled out a 357 Magnum revolver, and shot himself. Hence, his suicide was televised. This photo was taken at the moment he took the gun out.
