Tragedy In Space

In this picture, the NASA Space Shuttle orbiter Challenger crew members are preparing to board the craft. They seem excited about their adventure. But at exactly 73 seconds after boarding, the Challenger broke apart and all 7 members died.

Air France Flight 4590 was a scheduled international flight from Paris to New York City in the afternoon of 25 July, 2000. The airplane caught fire when departing and all 100 passengers including 9 of its crew aboard died when the plane crashed into a hotel nearby Gonesse, a commune in the suburbs of Paris. Several other people got injured after the crash. This photo was taken when the flight caught fire.
