Jolee Callan

On August 30, 2015, 18 year-old Jolee Callan went on a hiking trip at the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama upon the invitation of her ex-boyfriend, Loren Bunner. She was hesitant to go but since she wanted to remain friends with Bunner, she accepted. She managed to tell a friend that she was going out on a hike and said that “if something happens to me, you’ll know who I was with,” a chilling premonition of the events to come.

During their long walk, Bunner took pictures of the beautiful girl, with one picture showing Callan carrying his dog while looking far into the beautiful valley below. A series of other photos were taken, one of which was the very last of the 18 year-old alive. Later that day, Bunner shot Callan twice in the head and shoved her lifeless body over a 40-foot ravine. Bunner posted the photos he took of Callan on Instagram before turning himself in to authorities. He was sentenced to 52 years in jail for the gruesome crime.
