During the construction of the Titanic, it was reported that there were 246 injuries and two deaths recorded during the ship’s 26-month construction in Belfast.  Moreover, it was said that twenty horses were required to carry the main anchor alone.  The Titanic, at 271 meters, was long enough to span three humongous Atlantic Ocean wave crests.  Due to its size, the shipyard had to prepare for two years to be able to construct.  Following the completion of the hull and main superstructures, the Titanic was launched on May 31, 1911. In early April of the year 1912 the Titanic underwent its sea trials, after which the ship was declared seaworthy.
