Never Before Seen Titanic Images: Secrets Uncovered 100 Years Ago

Not Enough Lifeboats

Source: https://allthatsinteresting.com/
It was reported that the Titanic ship was equipped to hold 64 lifeboats. However, there were only twenty lifeboats onboard. Moreover, many lifeboats were sent out before it was actually full. According to records, there were only 28 people on the first boat and the capacity was 65. Coincidently, the Titanic was only 400 miles from land when it sank. Newfoundland was the nearest land but the Titanic was already underwater within a few hours of hitting an iceberg. This leaves us to ponder, if there were enough lifeboats, many would have survived in the open ocean.
