The Titanic’s design was said to be conceived over a glass of wine and fine cuisine. During inception, Lord Pirrie and J. Bruce Ismay decided speed would be balanced with quality of accommodation. The first-class cabins on Titanic were of the same standards as hotel rooms while second class was as good as first class as compared to other ships.
