New Wonder of the World

It was reported that when the RMS Titanic sailed away on her maiden voyage on April 10, 1912, the vessel was dubbed as ‘the new wonder of the world.” It was hailed “Unsinkable” by many accounts.  It was a remarkable feat of engineering and the Titanic was the largest most luxuriously appointed ship ever built.  Five days later, it sank at the bottom of the ocean after hitting an ice berg.  The irony has inspired many to romanticize her tragic ending in poetic proportions.  The Titanic featured exceptional first-class dining saloon, four elevators, and a swimming pool.  Its second-class cabins were comparable to first-class features of others ships.
