The Titanic was remarkable feat of engineering and the Titanic was the largest and most luxuriously appointed ship ever built.  Five days later, it sank at the bottom of the ocean after hitting an ice berg. However, prior to its tragic fate, the Titanic reportedly made two stops after leaving Southampton.  First was at Cherbourg in northern France, and Cobh (then Queenstown) in Ireland.  On April 15, the behemoth struck the iceberg, split into two, and sand deep into the frigid waters of the North Atlantic.  A nearby ship did not come to the rescue and the tragic fate of the passengers still give you the chills down that spine.
