According to archives, the last remaining survivor of the disaster, Millvina Dean, died on May 31, 2009 at age 97. She was two months old at the time of the ocean accident. She holds the special honor of having been the youngest passenger on board the Titanic when it sank as well as the last living person to have survived the disaster. Her family were third-class passengers and because they were emigrating to Kansas, everything they owned was in their luggage. Indeed, the Titanic is a human story.
